History

Shedd Park is home to fifty acres of tennis courts, baseball diamonds, picnic areas, a water spray park, and a pavillion often used as a stage for public events, concerts, weddings, and other ceremonies.  However, few know the story behind Freeman B. Shedd's gift of land to the City of Lowell in 1910, detailed here at Forgotten New England.
